That's my question. Men do that in almost every culture.
Is it that women's genes are not that way unlike men's genes, or is it from conditioning due to historical pattern of human behaviour.

Woman tend to be more compassionate due to hormone released to aid the role of a mother however I do believe the main reason as to why women don't have multiple partners is due to social conditioning. IN history women have been oppressed and reduce to be the possession of their husband much like a pet. So they did not carry the same social behaviour and opportunities as men. However in this modern age we are progressing towards equality between men and woman so in a developed country such as UK, a man having more than one wife would be frowned upon by most whereas in some underdeveloped countries it is still acceptable.
